You appear to have one of these early Springfield Armory, Inc. M1 Garand, the more USGI parts will be in its makeup. This much I do know, the older your Springfield Armory, Inc. According to a source in the below forum, Springfield Armory Inc. I think this forum may help assure you that you have a Springfield Armory Incorporated receiver. The Springfield Armory started producing M1 Garands in the early 80s and they "may" have picked up where the government numbers ended. The last post-war serial number block included numbers 6,034,229 to 6,099,905 and that block was assigned to Springfield armory and about 1 million short of your serial number.
